I Am New Here

Welcome to Christian Life International

Welcome to our NEW website. Please take time to look around.  We will be updating many of our pages in the coming days, so please check back often.  You'll notice that Pastor David will have a blog here on our Home Page that he will be updating once or twice a week, as well we'll keep you up to date on the construction on our new building.

Christian Life International Church is a family oriented Church who believes Jesus is quite simply, "Lord of All!"  We are dedicated to the teaching and preaching of the uncompromised Word of God while using cutting edge ministry methods of our day.  Our worship is exciting and God honoring.  Our ministries are for every age and both young and the "not so young" will find fulfilling ministries to participate in.  We believe we are called of God to be a bridge of God's love in a multiplicity of ways...

To bridge the sin valley which separates men from God.

To bridge socio-economic, racial, and cultural barriers which separate God's people from one another.

To bridge the Roanoke Valley as we have 45 acres which we are preparing to build upon on the Salem/Roanoke City line.

To bridge the nations as we have missionaries resident in England and support missions teams throughout the year.

Again, thank you for visiting our website while it is under construction. You will still find much useful information, so stop back soon!

Everyone Needs a Drink!

June 30, 2009

 Got your attention?

Probably so because anytime we hear these words, "I need a drink!" we equate it to excessive alcohol consumption. An act which many believe is a way to feel better. The truth is, anything we "drink" from outside of the kingdom of God is at best only a temporary fix.  One drink of fame, fortune, success, or fleshly indulgence is never enough. It just leaves us thirsting for more.

The Psalmist said, Psalms 42:1 (GW) "... a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God."

Jesus said, John 4:14 (GW) 14  "But those who drink the water that I will give them will never become thirsty again.  In fact, the water I will give them will become in them a spring that gushes up to eternal life."

Everyone needs a drink. It just needs to be the right kind and from the right source. The world we're living in is causing us more and more to "burn the candle at both ends."  That can dry the soul up quickly and leave us parched and looking for refreshing.

This coming Sunday we won't just talk about water... will seek the Lord for a drink from His springs.
