"CLI" as it's known by the homefolks is a thriving Spirit-filled Church nearing 1,000 in active membership. We have members from the cradle to ninety-five years of age with vibrant and relevant ministries for all ages. All this in a Church which itself is over 90 years old. Abraham's "Sara" of old may still miraculously bare children!

God is simply doing amazing things as a truly fresh breath of His presence is blowing among us. This in a church which is highly family oriented yet God honoring first and foremost. We believe people are seeking authenticity, not a watered down Word or hype and flash.

Our ministry is based around a word we believe God gave us, "Bridge Heaven and Earth". For us, this means connecting people of every socio-economic group as well as race and culture with the Lord in one body. We've been told it couldn't be done. God is proving otherwise!

The miracle continues...we'd love to have you be a part!

Building Progress

One part of the ongoing miracle at CLI is our building program. It's been almost 10 years ago we were able to acquire a thirty-eight acre parcel of property across from the VA Hospital on the Salem City/Roanoke City line. Not long afterward, we acquired an adjoining seven acres in Roanoke City for a total of forty-eight acres in the center of our ministry area.

By God's grace we will enter a brand new $7 million dollar, state of the art ministry complex in March of 2010. Children's and Youth Ministries will thrive with ample space and cutting edge ministry. A sweeping theater style sanctuary seating 850 people will provide a comfortable and ultra modern atmosphere for the unchangeable Word to be proclaimed.

Our move date has been set for March 1st, 2010!! Our first service will be on March 7th. Hallelujah!! We have had to face many challanges during this construction period. From engineering issues to exterior finish work and working on the parking lot, the winter weather hit hard and early. We ask that you pray for things to go well and ahead of schedule. In the end it will all be worth it and you will be thankful you have had the opportunity to be part of this. Just look at this beautiful building...

Pastor's Blog

We all know the childhood "ditty" which says, "Rain, rain go away come again another day...little Johnny wants to play." For we at CLI it goes more like, "Snow, snow, go away, Price Construction wants to pave our parking lot!" I know that's not much of a rhyme but it expresses the sentiments of our present situation.

Many folks are in a holding pattern for whatever the reason in their lives. It's at times like these we must learn what biblical resting in the Lord really means. I am reminded of the words of the Lord which I paraphrase, It's not up to you to know or even understand the timing...only trust.
